Stage 15: Vignoble de Cleebourg 1 (14,60 km) Weather: it’s raining. Road conditions: roads are soaking wet, dirty, with mud, and many puddles. Tires: the Citroën, Ford, and VW drivers have opted for 5 soft compounds for the six stages of the day. 10. SORDO/DEL BARRIO: « The stage is very difficult and I am happy I didn’t do any mistake. I am not surprised by the road conditions I knew it would be tricky.» 7. LATVALA/ANTTILA: « Conditions were really hard. I am not pushing that much today and I am not taking any risk. » 8. OGIER/INGRASSIA: « It’s hell! I don’t want to think about the conditions of that stage for the second loop. I really pushed to make a strong gap. It’s definitely not over yet because anybody could do some mistakes on such roads. » 1. LOEB/ELENA: The nine-time World Champion went off the road at the beginning of the stage on a fast straight. The Citroën DS3 WRC ended its race on the roof undergrowth. Crew is unhurt. 11. NEUVILLE/GILSOUL: « The conditions are dreadful. I am not used to driving under such conditions and I don’t have the feeling with the car. I overshot a junction and lost probably two or three seconds with the incident. » 5. NOVIKOV/MINOR: « I didn’t take any risk as it was so slippery. » 2. HIRVONEN/LEHTINEN: « I overshot a junction. Luckily I took a way out and reversed without hitting anything. » 4. OSTBERG/ANDERSSON: « I pushed even if the conditions are difficult because it’s a race! My pace notes are perfect thanks to the work done by my gravel crew. If the best driver of all times makes a mistake it definitely means that we can all do one! » 9. MIKKELSEN/NAGLE: « You need a very good feeling with those conditions but it’s definitely not easy. I went slighty off the road and probably drove about two hundred meters in a field before being able to drive back on the road. Luckily I didn’t hit anything. » 21. PROKOP/ERNST: « I had some troubles seeing properly as my wind screen was misted up. » 22. DUMAS/GIRAUDET: « It’s hell! » 74. KUBICA/BARAN : « It definitely didn’t sound like a stage on asphalt... » 121. BAUD/CHIOSO : « I went a bit off in a large curve and ended in the ditch. I lost a lot of time. It’s a pity because I was having a very good feeling with the car and we were having a great rally. » 52. GILBERT/JAMOUL : « I was very careful as it’s very tricky. » 51. CHARDONNET/DE LA HAYE : « The conditions are a nightmare. When I heard that Loeb was out I decided not to take risks anymore. I want to score some points for the WRC3 championship and reach safely the end. » 60. CRONIN/CLARKE : « It was difficult to see where we could push or not. » 123. LEMONNIER/LEMONNIER: « I find it difficult to optimize the World Championship tires as we can’t cut the compounds which is allowed on the French Championship. » 58. RIEDMANN/VANNESTE: « I took some risks and pushed well. »
